I am an accomplished multi-sport athlete playing many high-level competitive sports since I was 13 years old. I’ve been a part of many provincial and varsity caliber teams over the years: baseball, volleyball, basketball, golf, swimming, ultimate frisbee, badminton, and squash. Along the way, I’ve had great coaches, bad coaches, and some in-between; but never a strength coach. It was these experiences that sparked my interest in pursuing a career in kinesiology and physical education.
Over the past 12 years, I have worked in the strength and conditioning industry as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, and weight room coordinator coaching dozens of clients in achieving their fitness goals. More recently I have enjoyed competing in powerlifting and strongman. Combining my passion for strength and conditioning, sports, and education, God led me to Sports Performance. In that time, I’ve had the privilege of working with and being coached by several World Champion strength athletes which have helped me elevate my coaching to new heights.
Over my 7+ years at Bearspaw, I have coached hundreds of beginner and intermediate student-athletes through Jr. High Options, Sr. High Sports Performance, and Bearspaw Barbell (an extra-curricular strength and hypertrophy club at BCS). The real privilege for me is to be able to connect, build relationships, and have meaningful conversations about life and faith with my student-athletes as they mature and develop character through strength and conditioning.
