Take a Tour

Tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays during school hours so that you can see our school in action. Meet our friendly Admissions Team, see our facilities, and ask any questions you may have about BCS or Discipleship-Based Education.

Complete the Application

Once you have completed a tour:

  1. Our Admissions Team will e-mail you the online application tool, which contains an application checklist.
  2. Carefully complete all items on the application checklist.
  3. Once your online application is complete, bring the following to our Front Office to complete the application process:
    • $150 application fee, and
    • all required supporting documents per the application checklist.
  4. Our Admissions Team will record the date your fully completed application is received and prioritize your application accordingly. Please note that applications will not be considered completed until:
    • the application fee has been paid in full, and
    • all supporting documents have been received.

Faith Interview

Once the application is fully compete, our Admissions Team will contact you to schedule a Faith Interview with our school administrators. BCS Families are authentically committed to discipleship-based education. This is a big commitment so we want to get to know you personally! The Faith Interview will give you a chance to tell us about how Jesus is making a difference in your family’s life. We’ll also have a chance to talk about what it means for families to partner with BCS to influence this generation for Christ.

Grade Placement Assessment / Student Interview

In order to make sure we can support the unique needs of our BCS families, your child may be part of language and/or learning testing, which will be scheduled after the Faith Interview meeting is completed. In addition, all secondary students will be interviewed by our Principal / Vice Principal.

Student Selection

All potential students whose applications are fully completed will be placed on our waitlist until March. This is when the school will know the number of classroom vacancies and the teachers and resource staff that we will have available to meet unique student requirements.

Beginning in March of each year, the Admissions Team will review and prioritize applicants for open positions. The Admissions team uses the following to prioritize applicants:

  • Results of the Family Interview and Placement Tests
  • The number of children within a family who are applying (we want to be able to accommodate enrollment of all children within a family, if possible)
  • Availability of tuition assistance funding where it has been requested
  • The date on which the application was fully completed (this is our tie-breaker)

Any waitlisted student who is not provided an offer prior to all open positions being filled:

  • will remain on our waitlist for an in-year opening (if desired), or
  • will be prioritized for the following school year enrollment cycle.

Registration

Offers for classroom positions for new students will be made beginning in April. At the time the position is offered, you will be given registration and fee payment forms to complete.

All completed registration and fee payment forms must be completed within 5 business days of this offer. If not completed within 5 business days, the offer for a classroom position is withdrawn by BCS and the student is placed on our waitlist.

Existing Families

If you are an existing family at Bearspaw Christian School and would like to apply to enrol a new student, the following steps outline the application process for you:

An application checklist will be provided through the online application tool. Please make sure you carefully complete all of the items on the checklist as our Admissions Team will not consider partially completed applications.

Once your online application is complete, please bring the following to our Front Office to complete the application process:

  • All required supporting documents per the application checklist (applications will not be considered complete until all supporting documents have been received)

The date your application is fully completed (i.e. online forms completed and application fee and supporting documents are received by the school) will be recorded. This application completion date is used by our Admissions Team in our application prioritization process.

The Admissions team will use the following criteria to prioritize applicants against grade openings and staffing availability:

  • Results of the Student Interview and Placement Tests
  • Availability of tuition assistance funding where it has been requested
  • The date on which the application was fully completed (this is our tie breaker)

Any waitlisted student that is not provided an offer prior to all open positions being filled will;

  • Remain on our waitlist for an in-year opening (if desired)
  • Or will be prioritized for the following school year admissions cycle

At the time the position is offered, you will be given registration and fee payment forms to complete. All completed registration and fee payment forms must be submitted within 5 business days of this offer. If not submitted within 5 business days, the offer for a classroom position is withdrawn by BCS and your child is automatically placed on our waitlist.

Re-enrolment for Existing Students

Bearspaw Christian School has implemented an automatic re-enrolment process for existing students.

Currently, enrolled students are our first priority as we fill positions for the following school year. BCS will automatically re-enrol all existing students for the upcoming school year on the last business day of January unless we receive a Not Returning / Withdrawal Form from you.

If you have children that will not be returning to BCS for the upcoming school year, you will need to complete a Not Returning / Withdrawal Form – please contact the Admissions Team to obtain this form. Please note that the Not Returning / Withdrawal Form must be received by the school by the last business day of January to avoid a 25% late withdrawal fee.
